The RFM system uses a quick and easy method to measure the characterisitcs of the focal spot. You can do a complete measuremnet in just one minute. It is possible to study both shape and size for different generator settings. Also the modulation transfer function, MTF, can be measured. With the new CCD technology in the RFM, you get the great advantage of speed of measurements. ONly one exposure is needed for each curve measurement. You get the focal size, shape, and MTF for one specific exposure. Immediately after the exposure, all results will be shown on the computer screen.
Measuring Methods THe RFM is based on the slit methopd according ti the IEC 336 recommendation. The 10µm wide slit makes it possible to measure focal sizes down to 0.10mm, according ti IEC 336. The RFM also measures according to the DIN 6823, and the NEMA XR-5 Standards.
