IPL's history spans over 30 years. Founded in 1967 by Karl Amlauer, a UCLA trained chemist and industry veteran, the company specialized in radiation source production and custom source design. IPL was purchased in January 1999 by Eckert & Ziegler AG, of Berlin, Germany.
